Farmers allowed to spread manure two weeks longer
Livestock manure may now be spread until Sept. 15 instead of Aug. 31, under a new regulation to prevent soil contamination. Farmers had asked for an extension because of high rainfall, but an opinion suggests the extension could have a small effect on water pollution.
