Relatives of Indonesia conscientious objectors still demanding reparations


Childeren of men who objected to serving in the Dutch East Indies in the 1940s recently requested recognition for their fathers, following the government's decision to grant recognition to three marines who refused to obey orders during the independence war in Indonesia. Their fathers were convicted and imprisoned for refusing to fight, causing lasting hardship for them and their families. With a new request for recognition and the recent decision for the three marines, the children hope to finally achieve justice for their fathers.
