School during Eid al-Fitr: test week, empty classroom or everyone off
Gay umbrella Zaam decided to keep all 23 secondary schools in Amsterdam and Zaandam closed today to celebrate the Sugar Festival, after listening to the wishes of Islamic students and parents and seeking advice from Islamic colleagues. In other schools, obtaining time off for Eid al-Fitr is still difficult and varies from school to school whether students and teachers have to make their own arrangements.
