Meteorite earns Dordt observatory more than hoped for: 1.7 million euros
'A rare piece of the Gibeon meteorite, once dropped in the Kalahari Desert and weighing 240 kilograms, has been sold at auction for 1.7 million euros to an American bidder. The money will be used to support the Mercurius Observatory in Dordrecht, where the piece was received as a gift from heaven.'
