Number of Asian hornets increases, pest controllers are busy
The Asian hornet, an invasive insect that does not occur naturally in the Netherlands, is causing a growing nuisance and affecting beekeepers in particular. Experts warn that the number of sightings is increasing, but this can be partly explained by more searching observers. Official pest controllers are working hard to control the spread of the Asian hornet, but it will be difficult to completely eliminate the insect from the Netherlands.
