Storms in Alps, crowded roads to the south
Heavy rain in southern Germany and Switzerland is expected to continue for several days, with potential for over 200mm of total rainfall in some areas, while Italy and the Balkans will also experience heavy rainfall, making for dangerous driving conditions during what is expected to be one of the busiest weekends for summer travel in Europe.
