Opposition leader Sergei Tichanovsky released in Belarus
Belarusian blogger and opposition member Sergei Tikhonovskiy has been released from prison and reunited with his wife in Lithuania. His release is thanks to the efforts of President Trump and American Envoy Kellog, who met with Belarusian President Lukashenko to discuss improving relations and the ongoing war in Ukraine. Tikhonovskiy was initially sentenced to 18 years in prison for allegedly orchestrating riots and calling for violence against officials, after being barred from running in the 2020 election against Lukashenko.
