Breakthrough in detection: nitrous oxide detectable in blood and breath hours after use
Nitrous oxide affects driving for at least an hour and can now be measured in breath, blood and saliva using infrared detection equipment. This provides opportunities for enforcement and detection of nitrous oxide use in traffic, which is suspected to be involved in many traffic accidents with serious consequences.
