Leader of Conservative Party in Canada loses own parliamentary seat
The leader of the New Democratic Party, Jagmeet Singh, has lost his seat to his Liberal opponent and has announced his departure as party leader. Despite recent struggles, the Liberal Party, led by Justin Trudeau, has won its fourth consecutive term thanks in part to the threats made by US President Trump towards Canada. Both the Conservatives and the Liberals have gained seats in the election, but the fate of the Conservative party leader, Poilievre, remains uncertain.
