Cabinet in difficult position due to opposition to European defense plan by House of Representatives
The House of Representatives is critical of the European Commission's announcement that countries may set aside budget rules for more defense money, with Prime Minister Schoof having already agreed on behalf of the Netherlands but the cabinet therefore finding it difficult to provide a substantive response before next week's European Council debate.
