Injured jellyfish fuse together to form healthy specimen
Scientists have discovered that American rib jellyfish can fuse into a single, healthy individual with another injured specimen, even synchronizing their digestion and muscle contractions. This lack of discrimination between themselves and others may be an evolutionary advantage for the jellyfish.
