Dutch dredger Van Oord to create artificial island near Dubai

Dutch dredging company Van Oord has been awarded a contract to create a man-made island in Dubai. The island, called Naïa Island, will have a 6-kilometer coastline and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027. This is not Van Oord's first major project in Dubai, as they have previously worked on the iconic Palm Jumeirah and The World islands.
