'Lawyer Taghi never visited his client alone'

Longtime lawyer of Ridouan Taghi, Nabil Shukrula, who was recently arrested, has reportedly never visited his client alone in the heavily secured prison in Vught. The dean of the Amsterdam Bar Association, responsible for overseeing the work of lawyers, says that it is standard policy for suspects in the EBI to be visited by two lawyers at a time. The OM is not giving further details on the arrest which the dean has called shocking, and says that the Shukrula's case should not be used to draw general conclusions about the criminal defense profession.
