Chamber behind refusing group of Afghan guards
Opposition parties expressed concern over the fate of Afghan citizens who had previously worked for the Dutch embassy, with some even accusing the government of downplaying the dangers they face. Despite this, the coalition parties support the decision not to bring more Afghan citizens to the Netherlands, as Minister Veldkamp stated that the government has already taken responsibility by allowing over 4600 Afghans to come to the country. The government will continue to consider heart-wrenching cases, but will not follow through on a plan proposed by the previous cabinet.
